"BUCHANAN NEWS

Miss Tress Quarles, daughter of Mr and Mrs H, [sic] F. Quarles has been awarded a scholarship of $300 to Madison College where she expects to major in physical education.

Mr and Mrs Madison McCulloch had as guest last week their aunt Mrs Minnie Peck of Christiansburg.

Mrs Pauline Walters attended the funeral Friday in Salem of her cousin Mrs Annie Terrell Bushnell of Detroit, a former resident of Salem.

Mr and Mrs Ed McCulloch and son Johnny of Philadelphia and Mrs H. J. Sherets and two children of Greensboro N. C. and two children are guests of their parents Mr and Mrs J. E. McCulloch.

Mr and Mrs Ralph Frankhouser of Washington are spending a vaca [sic] with their relatives Mrs W. E. Roberts and Mrs Roy Sides at their home here.

Mr and Mrs Carl Garber and son Michael visited relatives in Winchester Sunday.

Mr and Mrs Morris Ransone family of Yonkers, N. Y. are spending a vacation with their parents Mr and Mrs W. A. Ransone.

Mrs Pauline Walters had as her guests last week Mrs William A, Anderson Jr., George E. Bushnell, Terrell and Miller Bushnell all of Detroit; Dr and Mrs Paul Yount, Norristown, Pa.; and Dr and Mr David Wilson of Hampden-Sidney."
