- Robert Walter "Bob" Garman was born in 1936 in Salem, Virginia to Herman and Ruby Garman. He had three siblings: Alene, Barbara, and Curtis. He married Marlene on April 20, 1962. They had three children: Sharon, Lori, and Richard. Robert Garman died on August 22, 2021, and is buried in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. He lived in Vinton.
