The caption reads, "A group of passengers is waitng [sic] for hte train at the Cloverdale depot on what is now the Norfolk Southern line out of Roanoke. The train was the main form of transportation and Fincastle residents wanted to extend a line from Cloverdale to the county seat in the 1890s.
