An undated newspaper article, which reads,
"Hayth's Hotel.
A summer resort frequented annually by people from the south and west - an old and popular house of entertainment.
Hayth's Hotel, in Fincastle, Va., is well and favorably known throughout Virginia and the Southern States. The proprietor, Mr. Bowyer Hayth, is one of the best hotel men in Virginia. He is not only accommodating, but one of the most attentive and considerate hotel men in Virginia. There is nothing that he can do for the comfort of his guests that he counts as trouble.
His hotel contains forty rooms; is located on the principal street in town, with wide verandas extending 200 feet - the entire length of the building, and fronting on the north lawn. Large aspen shade trees surround the building, and in the summer, the verandas are so protected from the sun as to afford an ideal resting place. The hotel contains a large ball room, 32x60 feet and during the summer season dancing parties are given.
The cuisine is kept up to the standard and the tables are laden with the best that that the market affords. The service is as good as can be secured, and a visit to Hayth's Hotel makes you feel like coming back again. Mr. Hayth also conducts a splendid livery service in connection with the hotel, and furnishes teams to the summer guests and the commercial trade. Connected with the hotel is a splendid six-acre garden, and Mr. Hayth also owns a farm in the county, from which an ample quantity of fresh country produce, milk, butter, eggs and chickens are obtained. This hotel makes you feel like you are at home, and everything is done for your comfort and pleasure that you would ask for. It is located in a healthy county, and this old town is filled with good hospitable people, who will like you and treat you nicely.
For information and rates by the day, week or month, correspond with Mr. Bowyer Hayth, owner and proprietor, Fincastle, Va." - Image 4 - A newspaper article from the Richmond Virginian, dated February 2, 1915, which mentions a supper held at the Hayth Hotel, served by the ladies of the Episcopal Church.
