CHURCH
The membership of Galatia Church is about 50. A revival service was held in May with the Eagle Rock Methodist Church. Rev. Dan Graham of Tennessee was visiting evangelist. The assistant pastors were Rev. M. A. McCormick and Rev. J. A. Armstrong. The following members were added to the church roll. Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Stoutamire (by letter) from Salem, Warren and Donald Stoutamire, Mrs. G. C. Thomas, Basil Thomas, Howard Thompson, George Golden, James Correll, Mrs. Maude Woodson, Mrs. Franc (by latter), Bobby, Lernard and Paul Franc and Mary Beverly Smith.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
The average membership is 49. Sunday School is held each Sunday morning. The usual annual picnic outing was held August 9 at Douthat State Park.

GALATIA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 1940-41
Dr. Bales and Montgomery Presbytery sent Mrs. Walter Carter of Roanoke to Galatia Church to hold a two weeks Daily Vacation Bible School from July 22 to August 2. There were 16 members of this school. Assistants were: Mrs. D. T. Smith, Janice Wood, Anna K. Correll and Lucille Wood.
A Christmas program was given under the direction of Mrs. D. T. Smith, the subject being, “The Light of America”.
CHRISTIAN ENDEAVOR
Christian Endeavor enrollment was about 40. President: Lucille Wood, Vice-President: Howard Thompson. Secretary: G. C. Thompson, Jr. Treasurer: Miss Willie Golden. The members take turn about being leader. A program committee is appointed by the President for each month.
