for training: Arthur Thompson, Deacon and Treasurer of the Church, left in April for Fort Meade, Maryland. Graham Buhrman, Jr., a member of the Sunday School, left in January for aviation field in Meridian, Mississippi. Bowman Jones, a Sunday School member, was sent in September to Kentucky. James Correll, a member of the Sunday School and Church, left in February for Fort Bragg, North Carolina. These boys have the prayers and best wishes of the Church people and are remembered from time to time with letters and gifts from the Sunday School.

MRS. HOWARD McCLUNG, HISTORIAN

Galatia Church is located at Gala, Virginia, Botetourt county in the Montgomery Presbytery. The church does not support a full time pastor but is group with the following churches- Iron Gate, Glen Wilton and Sharon. These churches are under The Rev. Otis C. Brown, who makes his home in Iron Gate. Mr. Brown has a heavy field of work and is truly a tireless worker as a pastor. He is loved by all of his members.

The elders of Galatia are:
O. B. Correll, Eagle Rock, Va.
G. C. Thompson, Gala, Va.
P. T. Stoutamire, Gala, Va.

The deacons are:
William Hannah, Gala, Va.
J. W. Riddlebarger, Eagle Rock, Va.
Edward White, Gala, Va.
Arthur Thompson, Gala, Va.

Arthur Thompson is our church treasurer. While he is serving in the Army of his country his sister Miss Kathryn Thompson is acting as our treasurer. She is very accurate in this work.

Regular Sunday School is held each Sunday morning. The group is small but very active under the leadership of Supt. G. C. THOMPSON. The Sect. and Treas. is Mrs. Anna K. Burroughs. The teachers are Mr. O. B. Correll, Mrs. D. T. Smith, and Miss Kathryn Thompson.

The young people have a league which meets during the summer.

The church services are held on the first Sunday night at 7:30, on the third Sunday morning at 11:00, and on the fourth Sunday morning at 9:45.
