THE TRIUMPH
And He hath on His vesture and on His thigh a name written, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. - Rev. 19:16
The first century Christians lived in a hostile world governed by militarists, the Romans. The emperor was considered a god and was worshipped. Nothing could have been more contrary to the Gospel, and the great empire and the little church met in conflict. John, the auther of Revelation, was well aware of this battle, and he wrote to the small group of Christian people, pleading with them to be faithful, to hold their banner high and refuse to worship any god by God in Christ.
Like the early Christians, we too are a minority people, pitted against the powers of this world on many fronts. It is the ageless struggle between good and evil, between the Prince of Peace and many pagan gods. We must allow God to use us to overcome cruelty with love, selfishness with joyous sacrifice and fear with faith. Then in our hearts we will know that the King of Kings and Lord of Lords will be victorious, as He was in those early days of the church.
Dear Friend:
Life’s most important decision is to trust Christ as a personal Saviour. You know of my personal interest in you and my earnest prayer for you to become a follower of Jesus Christ
I am praying that you will commit your life to Christ and follow Him in baptism.
I am anxious to help you in any way. Will you attend every preaching service of our church.
Remember, I am praying for you.
Sincerely,
Rev. P. D. Moran,
Pastor
